5 Vegan Desserts that Even Non-Vegans Will Crave

While vegans are the primary consumers of vegan desserts (who would’ve thought?), there are tons of recipes for vegan desserts that will have anybody drooling in seconds.  Why would a non-vegan even bother trying any vegan dessert if they do not hold any of the qualifying dietary restrictions?  Well, often times vegan desserts use alternative, healthier ingredients in order to make some of the same delicious, sugary delights.  Here are five recipes for vegan desserts that both vegans and non-vegans will enjoy:

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough “Blizzard”

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear “Dairy Queen”?  Most people would shout “chocolate chip cookie dough blizzards”.  It’s the perfect combination of creamy, chewy, chocolaty perfection – especially for a hot, summer day.  ”Oh She Glows” provides a recipe that will brings this treat straight home.  The best part about making it yourself is 1) you get to control your cookie dough to creamy blizzard ratio and 2) the homemade, vegan version takes away many of the questionable, artificial, and unpronounceable ingredients in the Dairy Queen Cookie Dough Blizzard.

Peanut Butter and Jam Nanaimo Bars

There is something about peanut butter and jelly that will never leave an American heart.  From lunches packed by your mother to midnight college snacks, the most special ingredient is nostalgia.  The best thing about this vegan dessert is that not only is it a “no bake” snack, but it only takes up to thirty minutes to make.  Brought to you by “Oh She Glows”, this delicious, chewy, three layer bar combines peanut butter, jam, and chocolate for a healthy, soy-free, gluten-free, delicious treat.

Seductive Raw Chocolate Walnut Fudge

Originally adapted from the Company’s Coming Superfoods cookbook, this chocolate walnut fudge will melt in your mouth – so much so that it has acquired the above name.  The simple, six ingredient recipe yields twenty-four small squares and the prep time takes no more than ten minutes!  Just stick it in the freezer for about an hour and you have yourself delicious, chocolatey squares made with some of the purest ingredients.  This easy-to-make dessert is great not only for your sweet tooth cravings, but for large, social events as well.

Two-Ingredient Chocolate Fudge Frosting

If you are somebody who buys frosting from the grocery store not for baking purposes but for Netflix and sugar binging purposes – then this is the dessert for you.  “It’s dangerous in the best way possible – creamy and rich without being overly sweet” claims Angela from “Oh She Glows” – the creator of this frosting.  All it takes is a can of coconut milk and non-dairy chocolate chips.  Yup, that’s all you need to have a delicious snack you can’t pull your face out of, or you know – a topping for cupcakes.

What more needs to be said?  Who doesn’t love peanut butter, s’mores, and oreos?  Brought to you by Minimalist Baker, these delicious, bite-size snacks will really define “living in the moment”.  All it takes is three ingredients, five minutes, one pan – and you have yourself warm, gooey, decadent, oozing perfection because you deserve it.

It’s important to consider that not all vegan desserts are necessarily “healthy”, but many of them are certainly simple to make and replace many of the artificial ingredients that really should not belong in any consumer’s body.  These five jaw-dropping treats are just a few of the tons of recipes for vegan desserts, so always keep an open mind and never be afraid to try something new regardless of whether or not you’re a vegan!
