What are the safest and most solo-friendly countries to visit as a female traveling alone?

I agree with Madison that most of Western Europe is pretty safe, provided that you're smart. You might find that men are more forward in some European countries, but it's usually not harmful. When I studied abroad in France we were told to be extra cognizant of our body language, since what we might consider normal in the US could interpreted as suggestive in other countries. Do some research on these customs so you know what to expect and what you should avoid doing before you go. I also agree with Madison to be careful of the way that you dress. I found that people in France tend to dress more modestly, and not doing so might draw some unwanted attention. No matter where you go, you should also avoid walking around alone at night and stick to more popular areas.
I think any country in Western Europe will be the most familiar and therefore most female friendly to a solo traveler. One tip I have for travelling outside of those countries is to be aware of how other women dress. If you're in doubt, dress more modestly. Dressing overtly different, especially as a woman, can make you a target. It is usually a good idea to try and buy some cheap clothing from the country you'll be travelling in during your first few days. Looking like a local is one of the best ways to stay safe!
I think in all countries you should remain vigilant but I would recommend the UK. It can be easier and safer to travel there because they speak English as well so language is not a barrier. London especially is a lot safer of a city than it seems and you can wander around town and explore it without feeling unsafe. However, you should still stick to the well trod areas because the farther out of a city you go, there are rough patch areas too that can be dangerous.
